Flow chart of preparation for specific labs each week

Thought process before each week's labs |
Example: Experiment 10-3: Bacterial Transformation: the pGLO system:
Step 1: TA notes & Lab Manual:

Exercise 10-3 from Lab manual |
 |
Exercise 10-3 from TA notes |
The first step is to go over these two things thoroughly, making sure I understand each step. If any thing doesn't make sense then I have to find literature or contact Dr. Brunt. The procedure of preparation for every exercise each week is the same.
Step 2 & 3: Prepare potential Questions and their answers:
 |
Sample of potential questions and their answers as part of my preparation for the labs each week |
To prepare some potential questions that students might ask I looked closely at any confusing step or any point of difference in the TA notes and the lab manual. Above is a snapshot of the document I prepared before this particular lab containing some of the questions and possible answers. To view the original document, please click here. These files are basically rough documents that I print before labs and keep with me incase I cannot answer a specific question on the spot. If the question is not even in my list of possible questions then I refer the student to TA or Daniel, the lab manager.
